Nonna's Gluten-free Baked Ziti: A Family Favorite

- 1 pound of gluten-free ziti pasta
- 1 pound of ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 24-ounce jar of marinara sauce
- 1 cup of ricotta cheese
- 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon of dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is soft.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Mix well.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with the remaining cheeses.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
