Nonna's Gluten-free Baked Ziti: A Family Favorite

Introduction

Forget about the traditional Italian dishes that are high in gluten because I am here to share with you Nonna's secret recipe for gluten-free baked ziti that will have your taste buds dancing with joy! This dish is a family favorite for a reason - it's comforting, satisfying, and oh-so-delicious.

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is soft.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Mix well.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with the remaining cheeses.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
